United States Code Service Index

The USCS Index has all the features of the print index.  Quickly scan key terms in alphabetical order, find cross references, or drill down through sub-parts under long topics.  The online version also offers hyperlinks which allow you to jump directly to a desired section, and pop-up headings which allow you to view information about a document without clicking the link.

  1. Browse by subject – Select the letter with which your subject of interest begins.uscs.png

  2. Expand a selection – Click the plus symbol to expand the subject listing.  Click the minus symbol to collapse the listing.uscs_expanded.png

  3. View the pop-up heading for a citation – Hold the cursor over a citation to display information about the document to which the button links.uscs_popup.png

  4. View the document – Click the citation hyperlink to jump to the document.
